House Party! and permanent damage
Okay so whoever is reading this which is most likely no one I'm sorry I haven't posted anytime recently. I have currently been very busy participating in my house, but I somewhat think this is not such a great idea anymore... We had work holiday this weekend, which basically means that we had to work an extra 4 hours this weekend doing odds and ends. My friend, Sam, signed me up to do party prep stuff (because yes we have a party AFTER we've cleaned the entire house... smart right?). Anyways I participated in the festivities and EVEN dressed up, which is something I rarely do. There has been a lot of drama lately between people and I am coming to accept that problems among people exist everywhere you go, but man am I fed up with it. I cannot wait until the day when people can just get along, but living with a large number I know that this is not ever going to be likely. I bonded with a few people though and really enjoyed hanging out downstairs dancing. I hope that starting this week everyone will be able to hang out and get along again. I also hope I didn't make too big of a fool out of myself. This is exactly why I don't participate. I'd much rather watch what everyone else is doing than make a weird mistake... I don't think there's too much permanent damage for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some for a few others.

Co-Op Obsession of the Week
So I'm just going to post the current obsession of my co-op. Last night after spending time with one of my friends I went downstairs to this song being played while people tried to learn the dance. Needless to say it was very entertaining.

Work Shift from Hell: So much for cooperative
So today was a not so amazing Co-Op day. I mean I know part of the point of living her is to have a cooperative spirit, but today was a frustrating day. Wednesdays are the day that I do most of my work around the place. (We have to do 3 hours of work per week.) So fulfill my three hours of labor to the house by helping with Cook Shift. During this time period I basically clean the dining room, put away dishes, clean the fridges, restock the milk, make the juice, re-stock food/supplies, and pretty much anything else the chef needs. Lastly I make saved plates and today there were 23 of them. These are plates of food (entree, desert, vegetable, bread) for those who cannot make dinner. It takes forever especially since I am supposed to be doing this with two other people, but the past two times I have been doing it solo. Also I stepped up to clean my halls bathroom which was left a mess at the end of the summer by the boys in my hall. I want a clean bathroom for the year so I did a scrub down for two hours of their mess. So co-ops are supposed to be cooperative right? Yeah... so much for cooperative.

Imogen House, the House of Awkwardness and Procrastination: The school year of the co-op
I have decided to start this new blog in order to center on my new experiences this year in my last year as an undergraduate student. What is so different about this year? As of about a week ago I have moved in to a co-op on North campus and will be spending my last year of school here in my time away from internships, clubs, school, and work. My first friend in the house, Jacob, actually gave me the idea of opening this blog basically when he said that he was happy that he finally had found people to live with actually as awkward as he was. As I embrace my awkwardness and enjoy feeling awkward I had come up with this blog title prior to having a focus for the actual blog. What Jacob said reminded me of this title, and gave my blog title a sense of purpose it had once lacked. So from now on I will be documenting my daily life as a co-oper.
Co-Ops were started by students to meet their housing needs and are open to all students regardless of school affiliation or year, which means a diverse group of people live with me. The building I live in technically hosts two different co-ops because it is so large (There are 200 of us here!). We each have weekly chores to perform for the house. For example, some work in the kitchen for three hours one day a week helping clean and prepare for meals. On top of that we have to do about 15 minutes of chores for our suite a week and clean our own hall's bathroom rotationally once a week.
I am really looking forward to living here, and spending time here. Hopefully, I'll make some more friends here or this year could be even more awkward than I intended it to be.
