Imogen House, the House of Awkwardness and Procrastination: The school year of the co-op

I have decided to start this new blog in order to center on my new experiences this year in my last year as an undergraduate student.  What is so different about this year?  As of about a week ago I have moved in to a co-op on North campus and will be spending my last year of school here in my time away from internships, clubs, school, and work.  My first friend in the house, Jacob, actually gave me the idea of opening this blog basically when he said that he was happy that he finally had found people to live with actually as awkward as he was.  As I embrace my awkwardness and enjoy feeling awkward I had come up with this blog title prior to having a focus for the actual blog.  What Jacob said reminded me of this title, and gave my blog title a sense of purpose it had once lacked.  So from now on I will be documenting my daily life as a co-oper.

Co-Ops were started by students to meet their housing needs and are open to all students regardless of school affiliation or year, which means a diverse group of people live with me.  The building I live in technically hosts two different co-ops because it is so large (There are 200 of us here!).  We each have weekly chores to perform for the house.  For example, some work in the kitchen for three hours one day a week helping clean and prepare for meals.  On top of that we have to do about 15 minutes of chores for our suite a week and clean our own hall's bathroom rotationally once a week.

I am really looking forward to living here, and spending time here.  Hopefully, I'll make some more friends here or this year could be even more awkward than I intended it to be.
